My ink and watercolor drawing AFTERGLOW (framed size 16 x 20 inches) will be on exhibit and for sale in the DIRTY SHOW 25 erotic art exhibition and event on the nights of Friday, Feb. 14, Saturday, Feb. 15, Friday, Feb. 21, and Saturday, Feb. 22. Admission will be for adult ticket holders 21 or older with photo ID only. Ticket prices range from $50 to $110. Hours each night are from 7:00pm to 2:00am. The event will be held at the RUSSELL EXHIBITION CENTER, 1600 Clay Street, Detroit, Michigan 48211. I have been in these shows before and have sold work there. My painting MIRROR MIRROR will be on exhibit in the 4th floor gallery of the Bridgeport Art Center at 1200 West 35th Street in Chicago from January 17 to March 7. There will be free public receptions on Jan. 7 and Feb. 21 from 7 to 10pm. All are welcome.

A lot of artists had one or two artworks accepted for Jackson Junge Gallery’s current “Ten by Ten” exhibition. At the opening each artist had one artwork on display. Mine was my black and white ink drawing TABLETOP,  shown in my previous post on this page. As art is sold from this special holiday exhibition, buyers can take their  purchases home and the gallery fills the empty space on the wall  with a second artwork by one of the artists like myself who had 2 pieces accepted.  As of a few days ago my 10 x 10 inch ink and watercolor figure drawing BENTWOOD was added to the exhibit.

TABLETOP is one of my two drawings that have been accepted for the Jackson Junge Gallery’s TEN BY TEN Exhibition that opens November 5. The gallery is located at 1389 N. Milwaukee Avenue in Chicago.There will be a Reception on Friday, November 8 from 6 to 10pm that is free and open to the public. UPDATE My drawing TABLETOP has been purchased by a collector and is no longer on display.

One summer some years ago an artist friend of mine was teaching a Saturday morning college art class where he had his students meet in various venues around Chicagoland to practice on-site painting under his guidance. He invited me to accompany them because he knew I liked to make on-site art and he thought it would be good to have his students working with 2 professional artists instead of just himself. One of the places we went was a private zoo out in the western suburbs, where I found this Mexican scarlet macaw in a big cage. He had a choice of several places to perch, but his favorite was by his shiny metal water bowl, and he spent enough time there for me to complete this painting.

SUBURBAN MACAW will be on exhibit from August 13 to September 22 in the CHICAGO ALLIANCE OF VISUAL ARTISTS 2024 MEMBERS’ SHOW in the North Shore Art League 2 nd floor gallery in the Winnetka Community House at 620 Lincoln Avenue in Winnetka, Illinois. The gallery is open every day. There will be an Artist’s Reception on August 22 from 6 to 8 pm. The 2 nd floor gallery is accessible by elevator.

My ink drawing TOTENTANZ 3 will be on exhibit at the Elmhurst Art Museum from Sunday, June 2 through Friday, July 12, in the exhibition LATER IMPRESSIONS 2024 sponsored by the Chicago Alliance of Visual Artists. The Museum is located at 150 S. Cottage Hill Avenue in Elmhurst, IL Gallery hours are Wednesday and Thursday from noon to 5pm and Friday, Saturday and Sunday from 11am to 5pm. There will be an Artists Reception on Saturday, June 15 from 6 to 8pm. All are welcome.
